Mary Catherine Jensen

Mary C. Jensen, 96, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mary is survived by her son, Anthony (Brigid) Jensen of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Jane Miller of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vito and Jenny Amanzio; husband, Clarence; brother, Tony Amanzio; sisters, Liz Fox and Irene Black. Mary C. Amanzio was born July 28, 1920 in Fort Dodge. She was educated at Corpus Christi School. In 1942, Mary was united in marriage to Clarence J. "Chesty" Jensen at Sacred Heart Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Mary was employed in the food service in the Fort Dodge Public, Corpus Christi, Sacred Heart, and St. Edmond schools until her retirement. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
