Mary Claire McCarville, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Moorland with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the funeral home. Mary is survived by her husband, Robert "Bud"; children, Dr. Maureen McCarville (Tom Gardener) of Escanaba, MI; Dr. Kevin McCarville (Becky) of Cedar Rapids; Timothy McCarville (Laura Schlaegel) of Reno, NV; Keith McCarville (Cindy) of Newton; Mary Ellen Trainer (Todd) of Eagan, MN; Dr. Beth McCarville (Matty Dolan) of Cordova, TN; Peggy Conlon (Pat) of Urbandale; Carol Eide (Eric) of Fort Dodge; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and sister, Ida Lamberti (Joe) of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Winfred (Doherty) Coleman; infant son, John McCarville; brothers, John, Jim and Orville Coleman. Mary Claire Coleman was born April 18, 1928 in Clare. She was raised and educated in Clare, graduating from St. Matthew's High School in 1945. She then attended and graduated from Fort Dodge Junior College. On September 3, 1949 Mary was united in marriage to Robert "Bud" McCarville at St. Matthew's Church in Clare. The couple first lived in Omaha while Bud finished his education. In 1951, after Bud graduated from Creighton University the couple established their home in Moorland. Mary was a devoted Hospice Volunteer beginning in 1983. She was extremely active in her church, community and her children and grandchildren's school activities. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and a proud supporter of the Saint Edmond Gaels. Memorials may be left to Unity Point Hospice or Saint Edmond Catholic Schools.
