Mary Gunderson

Mary "Linda" Gunderson was born in Algona, IA on December 28, 1948. She passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was 76 years old.

Linda is survived by her children, Christopher (Jill) Gunderson of Jewell, and Joshua (Stephanie) Gunderson of Fort Dodge; 6 grandchildren; siblings, Robin King of Moorland, Betsy King of Algona, Alan (Angie) Jessen of Fort Dodge, James (Wendy) Jessen of Isle, MN, Julie (Kevin) Cox of Fort Dodge, and Mark Jessen of Fort Dodge; and many nieces, nephews, and Cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Kuebler, father, William Howard King, daughter Shelly Gunderson, husband, David Gunderson, and brother, Patrick Lee King.

Linda loved to laugh and tell jokes. She was always helping others, playing cards, reading, or doing crossword puzzles with her brother Rob. She was also in a bowling and a softball league. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Linda graduated from Iowa Central Community College with her associate in science degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashford University. She worked for Central Labs, Electrolux, and D/SAOC until her retirement.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
