Mary Hood

M. Jeanean (Hanrahan) Hood, 75, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Des Moines, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 due to complications of Chronic Pulmonary Disease. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Joe Dillinger officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Private burial will be held at Iowa Veteran's Cemetery, Van Meter, at a later date. A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Jeanean is survived by her husband, Robert; sisters, Jo Ann Kluesner; Judy Cosgrove; son, Robert (Julie) Hood; daughters, Kimberly (Marc) Simmerman; Kelly (Matthew) Peters; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jan Rolfes; and son, Raymond Hood. Jeanean Hanrahan was born August 10, 1940 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Raymond and Helen Hanrahan and married Robert Hood in April of 1961. Memorials may be left to the Iowa Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
