Mary J. Kaskey

Rockwell City Mary J. Kaskey 91, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Anita Bane officiating. Burial of casket will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Mary is survived by her daughters, April (Richard) Angotti of Bend, Oregon, and Mary (Gary) Smith of Rockwell City; sister Joyce Rigby of Laurens; and brother Richard Anderson of Trenton, MO; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; and parents, Fred Homer and Hazel (Harris) Anderson. Mary Joan Anderson Kaskey was born November 14, 1927 at Algona, Iowa. She graduated from Algona High School, with the Class of 1945, and received her teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers College, now University of Northern Iowa. Following her education, Mary taught English and Speech. On July 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Charles G. Kaskey at Wesley, Iowa. The couple established their home in Lohrville and later moved to Rockwell City. Mary worked with her husband at Cal-Car Farm Service and for a several years she worked at the Calhoun County Engineer Office. She also had worked at the North Central Correctional Facility as a teachers aide. Charles passed away in 1984. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church, various Church Committees, Reading Circle, and past member of the Rockwell City Library Board.
