Mary Patricia Turner passed away at her home in Ankeny. A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Laufersweiler - Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, IA. She is survived by her mother, Mary Danielsen of Scales Mound, IL; siblings, Jeff (Debbie) Turner of Deer Park, WA; Joyce (Terry) Schoenhard of Scales Mound, IL; John (Jeannie) Turner of Pell City of AL; Mike Turner of Grandbury, TX; Kelly (Betta) Turner of New Hill, NC; Tim (Cynde) Turner of Manson, IA; Tony (Stephanie) Turner of Prescott, AZ. She was preceded in death by her father, L.G. Turner and her sister, Janice Baker. Mary was born July 29, 1960 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Cedar Valley High School Class of 1978. Mary then attended Marshalltown Community College on a basketball scholarship. She served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years where she was stationed in Scotland and Hawaii. In 2017, Mary retired from the United States Post Office. If there is a place in heaven for special Aunts, that is where you will find our Mary, surrounded by the wonderful memories she made with her granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and neighborhood children. Mary had an open policy: the door to her home, refrigerator, and her heart, was open to all. Our family will treasure Mary's last smile, last laugh, last hug, quick wit, and our last, "l love you Mary Pat". We know the memories will not be enough. Her caring heart was broken and was a heart that could not heal. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Celebration Of Life Sat, Jan 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home 307 South 12th Street Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501
