Marylou I. Bishop, 73, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be TODAY from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Marylou is survived by her daughters, Wendy Edwards of Boone; Diana Hubrich and her husband Russ of Wyoming, MN; four grandchildren, Bailey and Kristopher Reinhart and Sam and Sydney Hubrich; brothers, Willis Kester of Fort Dodge; Robert Kester of Billings, MO; and David Kester of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Lillian (Karstens) Kester and her husband Hebert. Marylou Irene Kester was born June 6, 1941 in Fort Dodge. She was raised in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1959. Marylou attended Iowa Central Community College until 1961. She worked in Fort Dodge until she moved to Los Angeles in 1965. Marylou was employed with General Telephone and Electronics in Santa Monica until 1970. She worked at Teledyne in 1971 until moving back to Fort Dodge a year later and worked at A.E.A. for 20 plus years. Marylou was united in marriage to Herbert Bishop on October 17, 1980. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Marylou attended night classes at Buena Vista University and graduated in 1986 with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management Systems and Personnel. She was a very active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Marylou was also the past President of LWML and Professional Secretaries. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
