Matilda B. Brehm

Matilda "Tillie" Brehm, 90, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Sunny View Care Center, Ankeny. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Tillie is survived by her sons, John (JoAnn) Brehm of Richland, WA; Jerry Brehm of Ames; Terry Brehm of Dallas, TX; Mike (Lisa) Brehm of Houston, TX; daughters, Nancie (Steve) Davis of Fort Dodge; Jeanne (Randy) Hair of Fremont, NE; Sue (Sam) Simpson of Ankeny; son-in-law, Denny Kurtz of Lamar, CO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, John Kudron of Summerfeld, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Ida (Lichanec) Kudron; husband, E. John Brehm; daughter, Sandy; sister, Adella; brothers, Joseph; Steve; Frank; Michael; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Matilda "Tillie" B. Kudron was born May 11, 1926 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. Tillie attended one year of Business School and worked for Safeway for a number of years. She was united in marriage to E. John Brehm on July 31, 1948 and they made their home in Fort Dodge. In December of 1972, the couple became the owners of the Silver Fox Restaurant and Lounge which they operated with their family until September of 1995. In October of 2008, Tillie moved to Lamar, CO to live with her daughter, Sandy, until moving back to Iowa in 2015. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
