Matthew J. Ewing

Matthew J. Ewing, 47, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Moore officiating. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Matthew is survived by his sons, Josh Ewing of Carroll; Levi Ewing of Fort Dodge; mother, Sherri Ewing of Fort Dodge; siblings, Doug (Robin) Ewing of Duncombe; Craig (Darla) Ewing of Webster City; Sue (Dave) Romp of Boone; Robert Ewing Jr. (Annette Lemon) of Fort Dodge; Gwen (Bill) Boggess and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ewing Sr. and nephew, Jarid Koester. Matthew was born January 24, 1967 in Fort Dodge. He was raised in Duncombe and graduated from Webster City High School. On August 19, 1989 he was united in marriage to Jana Blankenship and the couple established their Home in Fort Dodge. The couple later divorced in 2004 but have maintained a strong bond and friendship. Matthew co-owned Five Star Publishing and owned and operated JAM Publishing Inc. Matt loved to dance, listen to music, garden, but mostly was an all-around fun-loving man that liked to "break the rules"; doing a lot of things just for the "shock value". Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
