Mildred Catherine (Schuur) Lombard would like you to know that her work here is done. She received a call early today to attend a gathering in Heaven. This heavenly calling comes with a reunion of family and friends she has not seen in a long while. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, antiquing, and telling everyone of the many teddy bears she has made. Millie lived life to the fullest; born March 24, 1935 at home in Pocahontas County. Attending country school, she graduated from Palmer High School. Introduced to Charles Lombard by friends, they married on June 9, 1956 after a two-year courtship. Millie helped her husband in the building business and enjoyed the designing aspect. She enjoyed selling antiques and doing shows. She also loved designing and making mohair teddy bears, which she sold throughout the U.S. and even overseas. She taught at Iowa Central for five years. The couple spent 20 winters in the Reo Grand Valley in Texas. She was a member of the Fort Dodge Stoneware Association and Holy Trinity Parish.
