Mildred "Millie" Westlake, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Friendship Haven. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Barnett of Riverside Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mildred is survived by her daughters, Nancy Beck of Fort Dodge; Judy Lennon of Fort Dodge; Susan Willroth (Dennis) of Americus, KS; ten grandchildren; one step-grandson; 29 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; brother, Donald Johnson of Fort Dodge; half-sisters, Karen Anderson and Colleen Hay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sigure and Lillian P. (Simpson) Johnson; husband, Lyle Westlake; son-in-law, Jack Lennon; brother, Duane Johnson; sister, LaVonne Weintzetl; great-grandsons, Daniel and Cody; and half-brothers, Larry and Dale Johnson. Mildred Mae Johnson was born September 5, 1924 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge High School in 1942. On November 16, 1942 Mildred was united in marriage to Lyle Westlake, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Millie worked for Giant Wash Laundry for 13 years. She was a member of the Methodist church in Otho for 38 years. She most currently was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church. Millie was active in the Church Circle and UMW. Mildred enjoyed bowling with friends. She was a gardener that sold her produce at local farmer's markets and flea markets for many years. Above all, Millie loved spending time with her family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
