Rockwell City Monica S. Payne 49, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Lukes in Sioux City. Private Family Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City, with Pastor Lance Kotrch officiating. A Public visitation and viewing will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Monica is survived by her husband Clinton; children, Shealee (T.J.) Barker of Eastland, TX, Sean (Ellery) Payne of Rockwell City, Shani Payne of Rockwell City, Shannen Payne of Rockwell City, Sherylan Payne of Rockwell City; six grandchildren; her parents, Danny and Linda Norris of Carbon, TX; brothers, Michael Norris of Eastland, TX, and Macon (Dara) Norris of Eastland, TX; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delma and Ella Payne of Rockwell City; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter ShyAnne; sister-in-law Ruth Norris; paternal grandparents, Truit and Ruby Norris; and maternal grandmother Ethel Swan. Monica Shea Norris was born March 14, 1973, at Eastland, Texas. She graduated from Carbon Independent School District with the Class of 1990. She received her bachelors degree in early childhood learning from Georgia Southwestern State University. On November 25, 1995, she was united in marriage to Clinton Payne at Vienna, Georgia. The couple lived in many places in the southern states and Iowa, before moving to Rockwell City in 2019. Monica was homeschooler to her children for over twenty years. She enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing, scrap booking, and board games. Monica especially loved being with her family. Over the course of seven months, Monica went from 225 lbs. to 157 lbs., which she was very proud of, and tried to care for her own mental health as well as her families.
