Nicole Johnston, 77, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday November 17th at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Brian Feller officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Laufersweiler Funeral Home. She is survived by her children, Christine (Dave) Conell of Fort Dodge, Steve (Kris) Johnston of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer (Breck) Johnson of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Katelyn Bills (Clayton), Eric Conell (Maria) and Emily (Bobby) Schlosser, Charles, Bethany, Benjamin, and Alexis Johnston, Andy and Noelle Johnson; and 6 great-grandchildren Saylor, Wynnie, Rennick, Eli, Ollie and Landri, brother David Hoban (Barb) of St Charles, Missouri and her sister Marilyn Powers of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Dorothy (Delperdang) Hoban, husband Ralph in 2018, brother Charles Hoban and her nephew Joe Powers. Nicole Ann Hoban was born on November 30, 1942 in Bancroft. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from St. Edmond High School in 1960. On June 24, 1961 she was united in marriage to Ralph M. Johnston and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She played the keyboard for a band called the Cervelles in the 1960's. Nicole worked in the deli at Randall's Grocery from the early 1980's till the store closed in the 1990's. She loved to play the organ for her family and for some weddings. She also enjoyed meeting up with her friends for chicken at JaMars every Tuesday. Nicole was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Parish and was also an avid Vikings fan. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
