Carlisle Ora V. Mullins 91, formerly of Paton, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Burial of casket will be at Dawson Township Cemetery, West of Paton. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Ora is survived by her children, Garry Mullins of McPherson, KS, Dave (Chris) Mullins of Ankeny, and Peggy (Ray) Wilber of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Brian (Dawn) Mullins, Tomas (Michelle) Mullins, Holly (Bob) Diener, Aaron (Lena) Mullins, Kevin (Stefanie) Mullins, Jeff Mullins, and Jennifer (David) Wadlow; and numerous great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; daughter Donna Mullins; son Larry Mullins; grandson Mike Mullins; her parents, Herman and Minnie (Husmann) Meyer; sisters, Elizabeth Densmore, Berniece Butts, Minnie Morgan, and Berdella Meyer; and brother Alvin Meyer. Ora Velma Meyer Mullins was born February 11, 1927 on the family farm near Manilla, Iowa. She attended one year of country school before moving with her family to Manilla. Ora graduated from Manilla High School in 1944, and following her education was employed in the school office. She later moved to Lohrville and worked for her sister Elizabeth. On March 2, 1946 she was united in marriage to Floyd Mullins at the Presbyterian Church in Lake City. The couple established their home on a farm near Paton. The couple farmed all their lives until retiring in 1984. Ora enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. For many years the couple enjoyed wintering in Texas, fishing, camping, and traveling. Floyd passed away in 2012. Ora later became a resident of Carlisle Center for Assisted Living in Carlisle. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Paton, and the NIAPRA Old Car Club.
