Pamela A. (Smith) Nesbit, 64, of Boston and formerly of Fort Dodge and Des Moines passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long courageous battle against cancer with her husband of 32 years, Jeff by her side. Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Pamela is survived by her husband, Jeff; mother, Bette Smith of Fort Dodge, IA; brothers, Brad (Debbie) of Carrollton, TX; Scott (MaryAnn) of Eagle Grove; nieces, Karen (Zach) Butler of Urbandale, IA; Andrea (David) Miller of McKinney, TX; Megan (Jeffrey) Sailer of Marion, IA; nephew, Matthew (Katie) Smith of Richardson, TX; cousins, Rick (Beth) Vorhees of Charleston, WV and Lisa (Gene) O'Rourke of Amelia, OH. She was preceded in death by her father, L. Jay Smith. Pamela A. Smith was born May 10, 1952 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Pamela graduated from Saint Edmond High School in Fort Dodge. Pamela worked for Younkers in Fort Dodge and Des Moines, IA, Carson Pierre Scott, Milwaukee, WI and most recently The TJX Companies, Framingham, MA. She was united in marriage to Jeff Nesbit on August 11, 1984 at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge. Pamela loved spending time with her family, vacationing in Aruba, touring New England and other places. Memorials may be left to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
