MANSON - Patricia Diane Cooper, 71, of Manson, peacefully passed away Friday, November 20th, 2020 at the Hiawatha Care Center after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Pat was born January 1, 1949 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Arthur and Mary Cooper. She completed their family of eight children. She graduated from Manson High School in 1967. She was married to Joe Hock and from this union was blessed with four children that they raised in Manson. Pat was a devoted mother and active in her children's lives. She was a boy scout leader, a 4-H leader, and a CCD teacher. She was a naturally talented and self-taught florist and seamstress. She could make a beautiful flower arrangement or sew a dress with ease. As her children were almost grown, in 1984 she obtained her nursing degree at Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge. She was the school nurse at Barnum and worked various nursing positions in Fort Dodge medical clinics. Pat was a PA-C for many years at McCrary Rost Clinic, Lake City and was very dedicated to caring for her patients. Pat completed her education journey when she obtained her Masters from the University of Nebraska in 2004. In her later years, Pat enjoyed spending time at her lake house and boat rides on Twin Lakes with family and friends. She was also fortunate to take several trips to explore Europe with her friends. Pat loved hosting holiday gatherings with her family and cherished their time together. She always had an abundance of food and gifts to share with all. She had a special type of patience with the grandkids and embraced their enthusiasm. The grandkids loved how silly and calm she was with them. The annual summer trips to Adventureland in Des Moines with her grandchildren was something they all looked forward to. She will be deeply missed by her loving children and spouses, David (Maria) Hock, Merritt Island, Florida, Scott (Amy) Hock, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Chloris (Chris) Eggert, Ames, Iowa, and Colette (Ryan) O'Donnell, Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryan Hock, Nicholas Hock, Alivia Hock, Cason Eggert, Camden Eggert, Aden O'Donnell, and Reese O'Donnell; siblings JoAnn (Bud) Vaught, Artha (Gary) Labath, Janice Oberhart, and Michael (Marge) Cooper.
