Patricia Erickson

August 14, 1939 — February 20, 2016

Patricia A. Erickson 76, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Paula J. Barber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday with the Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Patricia A. Mackey was born on August 14, 1939 in Varina, IA to Matt and Loretta (O'Brien) Mackey. Patricia was educated at St. Columbkille School. She married Ted Tate on June 12, 1959 in Germany as he was in the Army. Upon this union, four daughters were born: Kathy, Donna, Diane and Louise Marie. The family lived in Germany, Kentucky and Iowa during this marriage. The couple later divorced. In May of 1970, Patricia married William Booge and to this union was born one son, Corey. They later divorced. In 1977, she married Carl Miller, and they resided in Fort Dodge until his death on August 8, 1998. Patricia worked at Friendship Haven, Payless Cashways and Shoppers Supply until retiring. She was united in marriage to John Erickson on October 16, 2010, and they resided in Fort Dodge until her death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Legion of Mary. Patricia loved saying the Rosary and Angels. Her favorite Saint was St Therese (the Little Flower Girl). She loved the phrase, "I love you to the moon and back and to the stars and beyond." She loved to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for helping people. Her interests included: dancing, camping, fishing, bowling and she loved traveling. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies and many friends of her kids and grandchildren enjoyed them, also. Patricia is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Kathy "Kate" Ellis (Roger Thrailkill); Donna (Kenny Jr.) Sindergard; Diane "Deedee" (Rick) Wittmaack, all of Laurens; son, Corey Booge (Jodi) of Fort Dodge; stepdaughters, Paula (Joe) Rowinski of Longmont, CO; Barbara (Del) Anderson; and Stephanie (Olaf) Woods, both of Bettendorf; grandkids, Travis (Stacey) Rauhauser; Ashley (Jed) Akridge; Shane (Courtney Parks) Sindergard; Jonathan Meier; Joshua (Ashley) Meier; Caleb Booge; Cloey Booge; step-grandkids, Brooklyn Rowinski; Alexis and Courtney Anderson; Ava and Daniel Woods; great-grandchildren, Emily; Kane; Knox; Charlotte; Levi; brother, Henry (Shirley) Mackey of Laurens; sisters, Harriet Goedert of Varina; Loretta Wolf; sister-in-law, Elaine Mackey of Fort Dodge; brother-in-law, Bruce E. Erickson of Park City; numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Loretta (O'Brien) Mackey; husbands, Ted Tate; Carl Miller; daughter, Louise Marie Tate; brothers, Gene; Bill; John; Matt Jr.; Richard; Garret Mackey; and sister, Rose Kirsch. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
