Patricia 'Patsy' L. Dunbar

Gowrie Patricia L. "Patsy" Dunbar, 87, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at United Methodist Church, Gowrie with Pastor David Arulnathan officiating. Burial will follow at the Gowrie Township Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Patsy is survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Larry Dunbar (Mindy Anderson) of Badger; Sandi (Dean) Lammers of Corning; grandchildren, Nick (Rachel) Dunbar; Sarah(Paul) Cain; Chris (Tisha) Lammers; Jon Lammers; six great-grandchildren, Lily Rae Dunbar; Jenna and Ava Cain; Nolan, Owen and Natalie Lammers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Jessie (Laird) Douglas; brother, Robert Douglas; and daughter-in-law, Becky Dunbar. Patricia L. Douglas was born February 9, 1932 in Fort Dodge. Patsy was raised in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1950. On October 30, 1954, Patsy was united in marriage to Ralph Dunbar at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple moved to Gowrie and in 1962 established their home on a farm north of Gowrie. Patsy worked for the Iowa Department of the Blind for a number of years. She was one of two people in the United States that was a music braille transcriptionist. Patsy was a member of the United Methodist Church and UMW in Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
