Patrick Owen Casey

Patrick O. Casey, 82, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Simpson Health Care Center, Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Frank Lona officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at a later date at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, with a Vigil at 6:30 p.m. Patrick is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Caialee Casey of Des Moines; sister, Barb Eastwood; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence (Goodrich) Casey; brothers, Donald Casey; George Casey; Leo Casey; John Casey; sisters, Lucille Wieberg; Donna Dopp; Catherine Gehlhausen; Wilma Wieberg; and Leona Wieberg. Patrick O. Casey was born May 27, 1933 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1952. After graduation, Pat served in the Korean War from 1953 until he was Honorably Discharged in 1955. He was united in marriage to Mary Conrad on September 8, 1962 at Corpus Christi Church, Fort Dodge. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge, and Pat worked for Georgia Pacific Gypsum for 39 years until retiring in 1998. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church and was a past member of the Elks Lodge. Pat's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Friendship Haven, especially for all their care and personal attention. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
