Pauline L. Kolacia, 88, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial and assisted by Deacon Dan Carney. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home. Pauline is survived by her children, Karl "Bud" (Leslie) Kolacia of Fort White, FL; Karen (Mike) Ackerson of Rockwell City; Anita (Don) Walstrom of Lehigh; Myrna Boekhout of Harrisburg, SD; Linda (Bill) Mericle of Fort Dodge; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons; sister, Dorothy Pyle of Pomeroy; brother-in-law, Ray Ault and sister-in-law, Helen Birocci both of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; parents, Leonard and Ethel (Delle) O'Donnell; sons, David and Bill Kolacia; twin grandsons, Timothy and Titus Ackerson; and great-grandson, Zachary Ackerson. Pauline L. O'Donnell was born June 18, 1926 in Gilmore City. She was raised and educated in Gilmore City, graduating from Gilmore City High School in 1943. After high school she attended Tobin Business College. Pauline was united in marriage to Karl Kolacia in 1947, at Holy Rosary Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Pauline worked for Trinity Regional Hospital until retiring in 1989. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Rosarians. Pauline had a passion for oil painting, playing cards, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for the smile on her face. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
