Phillip Edwin Joselyn, 80, of Urbandale, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Urbandale. Phillip Edwin Joselyn was born November 10, 1937 in Fort Dodge, IA to Marion and Florence (Dalton) Joselyn. Phil graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School and attended the University of Iowa. He was united in marriage to Carol Jane Anderson on April 20, 1963 and later divorced. Phil owned and operated Joselyn Press and Office Supplies for 50 years. Phil was a past president of the Fort Dodge Country Club and the Iowa Golf Association. Phil is also a member of the Fort Dodge High School Sports Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Izabella Svebakken. Phillip is survived by Lou Howell, friend and love for over 30 years; son Tim Joselyn and wife Denette of Charlotte, NC; daughters Beth Joselyn and husband Padraic Hyne of Hopkins, MN; Lynn Joselyn and husband Charles Bisantz of Durango, CO; grandchildren Isaac Svebakken, Samantha Hyne, Madison Joselyn, Abigail Joselyn, Lillian Bisantz, and Josephine Bisantz,; sisters Charlotte Nash of Algona, IA and Dudley Bednar of Bloomington, MN. Phil loved his family, his friends, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the sport of golf. He had a way of bringing joy and optimism to life and to the people he met along his journey. He will definitely be missed by all. A memorial service will be scheduled in the future to commemorate a life well lived. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.
