Philip W. Rossmanith

Gowrie Philip W. Rossmanith 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Morris, Illinois, after several years of failing health. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Farnhamville, with Pastor Jerry Raether officiating. Burial of casket will be at Highland Township Cemetery at Churdan. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, at the Church, until service time. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Philip William Rossmanith was born September 7, 1946, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Henry and Ila (Schamel) Rossmanith. He attended school in Gowrie and graduated from Prairie Community High School in 1965 as Class President. After graduation he worked at Farmers' Co-op and B&G Auto in Farnhamville, and New Co-op in Fort Dodge. In 1984, he moved to Omaha where he worked for AGP, until his retirement in 2000. He then moved back to Farnhamville to the farm home where he grew up, until moving to Magnolia, Illinois, to be close to his family. Philip enjoyed fishing and golfing, remodeling his homes and caring for the animals on the farm. He served as a member of the Farnhamville Fire Department and an EMT for many years. Philip is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Rossmanith. He is survived by his son Thom (Yoneida) Rossmanith of Morris, IL.; grandchildren Stephanie Rossmanith of St. Charles, MO, Kirsten Rossmanith of Omaha, NE, Breanna and Kyleigh Rossmanith of Plattsmouth, NE, Oriana Rodriguez of Columbia, MO, and Sebastian Rodriguez of Morris, IL; one great-grandson; brothers, Ed Rossmanith of Rolfe, and Jim (Cece) Rossmanith of Churdan; and other relatives and friends.
