Callender Phillip E. Peterson 90, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender, with Pastor Greg Stano and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Burial will be at the Callender Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Phillip is survived by his daughters, Sonja (Dann) Johnson of Thompson, and Heidi (Tim) Parcel of Norwalk; son T.J. (Dianne) Peterson of Callender; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Betty) Peterson of Callender, and David (Evelyn) Peterson of Lafayette, IL; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn; infant daughters, Kristine and Nina; and his parents, Percy and Inger (Heggen) Peterson. Phillip E. Peterson was born July 16, 1929 in Callender, Iowa. He was raised and educated at Callender and graduated from Callender High School, with the Class of 1948. On April 29, 1951 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Pearson. The couple established their home on a farm near Callender. Phillip farmed and operated a dairy for most of his life. Phillip also had a passion for flying. He received his pilot license and owned his own plane for over 40 years. Phillip was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church, and the Holstein Association.
