Phyllis Schwering

Phyllis T. Schwering, 84, of Moorland passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home. Family has chosen to have no services at this time due to COVID. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Julie Schwering of Moorland and Lisa (Ronnie) Dove of St. Joseph, MO; daughter-in-law Lisa Schwering of Avon, SD; grandchildren, Troy and Katie Dove, Lucas (Taylor) Schwering, and Morgan (Nate) Rostorfer and Lexi (Luke) Bamberg; great-granddaughter, Stella; siblings, Richard Halligan and Audrey Breyfogle. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Steven and Della (Forcier) Halligan; son, Todd Schwering; and 3 siblings. Phyllis Theresa Halligan was born February 12, 1937 in Stewart, MN. She was the most amazing mother to her children. She cherished her family. Phyllis was a master gardener and her children marveled at her ability to remember all of the types and varieties of all the plants she encountered. She loved to make crafts and paint. She crocheted and danced in the living room with her kids to Elvis. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Theresa (Don) Hall and Cassandra Rykhus and best friend, Lorrie Rykhus for all of their love and attention to Phyllis in her final days.
