Gowrie Ralph W. Dunbar 90, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 at Humboldt Care Center South in Humboldt. Graveside Services will 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at the Gowrie Township Cemetery, with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating and Military Graveside Rites conducted by American Legion Peterson Post #431 of Gowrie. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is in charge of arrangements. Ralph is survived by his son Larry (Mindy Anderson) Dunbar of Badger; daughter Sandi (Dean) Lammers of Corning; grandchildren, Nick (Rachel) Dunbar, Sarah (Paul) Cain, Chris (Tisha) Lammers, and Jon Lammers; six great-grandchildren, Lily Rae Dunbar; Jenna and Ava Cain; Nolan, Owen, and Natalie Lammers; and sister Pauline Doyen of Fort Dodge; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Dunbar; his parents, Claude and Dolly (Gutshall) Dunbar; daughter-in-law Becky Dunbar; twin sister Ruby Mae Dunbar; sisters, Bernice Wright and Helen Moore; and brothers, Lloyd and Lester Dunbar. Ralph W. Dunbar was born September 30, 1929 at Redfield, Iowa. Ralph was raised in the Gowrie area and graduated from Burnside High School, with the Class of 1948. Ralph served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1952. On October 30, 1954 he was united in marriage to Patricia "Patsy" Douglas at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple moved to Gowrie and in 1962, they established their home on a farm north of Gowrie. Ralph farmed and worked as an electrician for Woodman Electric for 39 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Gowrie, and IBEW. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
