Ralph W. Rotert, 95, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Church. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Vivian of Fort Dodge, children Vicki Rotert of Fort Dodge, Connie (Tom) Miklo of Fort Dodge, Renee (Kyle) Underwood of Fort Collins, CO, Steve (Jean) Rotert of Plantation, FL, Jim Rotert of Rio Rancho, NM, Jan (Kenny) Miller of Manson, Kevin (Jill) Rotert of Fargo, ND, daughter-in-law Sue Rotert of Littleton, CO, 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, siblings Bernice Cronin of Sioux Falls, SD, Juanita Lauer of Salem, SD, Vince Rotert of Sioux Falls, SD, Jerome Rotert of Huron, SD, Carol Sabers of Sioux Falls, SD and Richard Rotert of Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Mary (Hoff) Rotert, son Dennis Rotert, grandson baby Kenny Miller, brothers LeRoy and Eugene Rotert and his sister Rosie Rotert. Ralph W. Rotert was born on June 12, 1925 in Salem, SD. He was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1943. From 1945 to 1947 he served in the United States Navy. Ralph was united in marriage to Vivian Lauer on February 6, 1950 in Howard, SD. The couple established their home and farmed in Salem, SD. Ralph also coached at St. Mary's High School. In 1967, the couple moved to Fort Dodge and Ralph was offered a job with Iowa Central Industries where he worked for 23 years retiring in 1991. Ralph then worked part time at Wells Fargo until 2004. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 613, Order of the Catholic Foresters and served for many years as an usher at Corpus Christi Church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
