Raymond C. Hogan, 89, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 28th at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery, where military rites will be presented by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. A visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27th at the funeral home. Raymond is survived by his wife Anna Marie (Meyer) Hogan; daughters, Nancy Jane Johnson (Curt) of Ames; Barbara Ann Davidson (John) of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Tami; Kelly; Matt; Aaron; Andy; great-grandchildren, Jace, Christian, and Taytum; Koy and Sam; Jackson and Jayden; Curtis and Charlie; and sister, Frances Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Margaret (Trainer) Hogan; daughter, Beverly; great-granddaughter, Abby; brothers, Robert; Harold; Paul; and his sister, Elizabeth German. Raymond C. Hogan was born on June 29, 1925 in Fort Dodge. He attended Colfax No. 9 until the fourth grade; then was enrolled at Sacred Heart School, graduating in 1943. At the age of 17, Raymond enlisted in the cadet program with the United States Air Force, serving for three years. He then enrolled at the University of Iowa. While home on semester break, Ray was offered a job with Pfaff Bakery, where he worked for over 22 years. On June 3, 1950, Ray was united in marriage to Anna Marie Meyer at Corpus Christi Church and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Ray belonged to the Bakery Workers of America Local 433, American Legion Post 130 of Fort Dodge, and a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Memorials may be left to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
