Raymond P. Vought

Rockwell City Raymond P. Vought 86, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023 at his home. Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church until service time. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Raymond is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Kris (Roger) Burman of Twin Lakes, Gary Vought of Gowrie, and Jennifer Dohrmann of Hendersonville, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Sydney, and Justin; step-grandson Ryan; sister Carol Vought-Tyler; niece Donna Lewis; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois (Parks) Vought; sisters, Patricia Hannah, Katherine Onnen; Mary Ester Ortel, and Judy Schuler; and brothers, John and Warren Vought. Raymond P. Vought was born May 9, 1936 at Rinard, Iowa. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School, and then Rockwell City Schools. On December 31, 1957, he was united in marriage to Sharon Schamel at Rockwell City. Raymond worked construction at the gypsum mills in Fort Dodge. He later owned and operated Electrical Materials in Fort Dodge for over 35 years until his retirement. Raymond was an active member and worker at St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church. Raymond also enjoyed flipping houses.
