Regina Catherine Wald

Regina C. Wald, 100, of Gilmore City and formerly of Clare passed away Friday, August 1, 2013 at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas. Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church in Clare with Rev. Jim Tigges officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Clare. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a Rosary service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Regina is survived by her son, Joe and his wife Sue of Wald of Bradgate; daughter, Mary Ann Gawtry and her husband Richard of Lincoln CA; six grandchildren ; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter (Jim) Gladbach of LA Plata, MO; Alfred Gladbach of Brunswick, MO; and a sister, Genevieve Huffman of Niota, IL. Regina was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Gertrude (Joseph) Gladbach; husband, Herbert; infant son, Fredrick; six brothers and five sisters. Regina Catherine Gladbach was born February 25, 1913 on her family's farm in Mendon, MO. She was raised and educated in the north New Hall area. On February 18, 1936 she was united in marriage to Herbert Wald. The couple established their home on a farm near Clare.
