Richard Albright

Richard J. Albright, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, surrounded by his three children. Richard's wishes were that his body be donated to Creighton University for scientific purposes. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday September 12, 2014 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include his children, Maryanne (Robert) Bergen or Warren, MI; Edward (Lorie) Albright of Fort Dodge; Rich (Stephanie) Albright of Fort Dodge; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beth Albright of Fort Dodge; and son-in-law, Randy Eubank of Indianola; and sister-in-law, Catherine Condon of Fort Dodge. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Clotilda (Cavanaugh) Albright; wife, Patricia; daughter, Catherine Eubank, newborn child; sister, Delores Curtis; and brother, Thomas Albright. Richard John Albright was born February 21, 1927 in Sioux City. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Fort Dodge and continued his education at University of Nebraska for two years. Dick enlisted in the United States Army-Air Force in 1944 and served until 1946. On July 3, 1947, he was united in marriage to Patricia Dwyer in Fort Dodge. Dick was employed by Geo. A. Hormel Company for 43 years, working at the Fort Dodge Plant and then the last few years at the Austin, MN location. He retired in 1988 as the Credit Manager, and the couple returned to Fort Dodge. Richard was a member of Corpus Christi, the Fort Dodge Garden Club, American Legion, and Toastmasters. Memorials may be left to Holy Trinity Parish.
