Callender Richard "Dick" Larson 90, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. His wishes were to be cremated and no services. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Dick is survived by his wife Claribell; his children, Gary (Roberta) Larson of Burnside, Marlon Larson of Callender, Bob (Vicki) Larson of rural Otho; grandchildren, Adam (Christi), Amber, Andrew, Austin, Jacqueline, Miranda, and McKenze; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Edna (Youngquist) Larson; his brothers, Marvin, Edwin, and Lester Larson; and grandson Bobby Jr. Richard Lee Larson was born February 28, 1933 at Callender, Iowa. Dick graduated from Callender Public Schools. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender, where he remained a lifelong member. Dick served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1956, he was united in marriage to Claribell Waterman at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. The couple made their home on the home place at Callender, all but six years and farmed until a few years ago. Dick enjoyed going to farm sales and had several antique tractors.
