Richard Nolta, 79, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Richard is survived by his wife, Berniece Nolta of Fort Dodge; son, David Nolta (Cindy Schatz) of Badger; daughter, Suzanne (Bill) Eckart of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Corey and Justin Nolta; great-grandchildren, Jordan Eckart and Morgan Schatz; and sister, Connie Merrill of State Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Helen (Eckhart) Nolta; first wife, Ann Stromberg in 1981; and an infant daughter. Richard Merle Nolta was born January 16, 1940 in Marshall County. He was raised and educated in State Center before moving to Fort Dodge, where he graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1958. Following his education, Richard served 6 months active duty in the Army Reserves. Upon his return to Fort Dodge, he worked for IBP for 22 years. In 1961, Richard was united in marriage to Ann Stromberg. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. In 1981, Ann passed away. In 1985, Richard went to work for Georgia Pacific until retiring in 2002. On May 16, 1986, he was united in marriage to Berniece Schumacher. Rich enjoyed golfing and fishing and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
