Richard V. Wilson, 75, of Fort Dodge died September 8, 2021 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Richard is survived by his children, Tim Wilson of Ames; Kathy Gehlhausen (Austin Hellman) of Fort Dodge; Thomas (Lisa) Wilson of Madrid; Daughter-in-law Lori (George) Bower of Spirit Lake; grandchildren, Abby Wilson, Rick (Becky)Wilson, Kirsten (Michael) Curry, Alex Wilson, Cory Wolff, Cassidy (Tyler) Dodds, Austin, Tyler, and Katelyn Gehlhausen, Max Bower; great-grandchildren, Kadi & Aubrey Wilson, Mason, Kenna & Beckett Curry; siblings, Mary Ellen Stuhrenberg, Charla (John) Adams, Donnie (Sue) Wilson, Betty Cook, Janet (Harold)Armstrong, Katherine (Paul) Watson, Patty Mefferd, and Bill (Alana)Wilson; many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, son Rick Wilson, daughter Karen Westphal, daughter Khris Wolff, siblings Chuck Wilson, Jim Wilson. Richard Vincent Wilson was born May 18, 1946 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Saint Edmond High School in 1964. On June 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Mary Vaughn and the couple made Fort Dodge their home. Richard first worked for Certain Teed, later it became Georgia Pacific, then Celotex before retiring. After retirement Richard enjoyed golfing, putting puzzles together and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Notre Dame football and the Chicago Cubs, and sharing his passion for his teams with his kids and grandkids. Most of all he loved his family and friends, especially his grandkids who he was most proud of. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
