Ricky "Slick Rick" Cornelius Grady, 58, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Rick is survived by his parents Stella Mosley and George "Sonny" Grady both of Fort Dodge; children Michael Young, Laricka Al-Hameed, and Shalonya Diekman all of Fort Dodge, Tony Diekman and Dariana McElroy both of Des Moines, Whitney Smith of Minneapolis, and Iesha Foy and Shamar Foy both of Sioux City; siblings Major Mosley and Natesa Cordero both of Texas, James Mosley, Covey Grady, Jermiah Preston, Keyonna Preston and Tyniah Preston all of Fort Dodge; special friend Lynita McElroy of Fort Dodge; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Edward and Elizabeth Wilson and Gracie Grady; siblings, Audre Smith and Linda Grady; aunts and uncles Johnny and Mary Mosley, Chester and Uni Bell Lofton, and Glendon Mosley. Ricky was born May 30, 1964 in Fort Dodge and he attended area schools. He was currently employed at AFES. He enjoyed doing odd jobs for family and friends. He was a long standing member of the Second Baptist Church and was a drummer for the Second Baptist Praise Team and the Fort Dodge Community Choir. Rick was a kindhearted, gentle soul who always had a trinket, a smile and a laugh for those whom he loved or encountered. He was respectful and loving to anyone who crossed his path. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
