Ricky Dee Spencer

Rick D. Spencer, 60, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Willer, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his siblings, Mickie (Bill) Messerly of Fort Dodge; Chuck Spencer, Gary (Janet) Spencer, Greg Spencer, Denny (Paula) Spencer, and Randy (Brenda) Spencer all of Fort Dodge; a host of nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Delores (Wheaton) Spencer. Rick Dee Spencer was born on March 3, 1953 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Manson High School in 1971. After his education he became a caretaker for his parents. Rick later went to work for Advanced Heating and Cooling as an installer for several years. He had been employed at Wal-Mart for over 15 years. Rick was a wonderful uncle who enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was always a truck man. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
