Robert E Sullivan

Robert E. Sullivan, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Laufersweiler- Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 1856. A visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with a Rosary at 4:00 pm and a Vigil at 7:00 pm. Robert is survived by his step-children, Kay Jensen of Fort Dodge and Roger Kinseth of Fort Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren; nieces, Joan Rasmussen of Owatonna, MN; and Laurie Gardner of Hardeeville, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mabel (Rydlund) Sullivan; his wife, Arulen "Pat" Sullivan in 1994; and sister, Mary Katnik. Robert Eugene Sullivan was born September 7, 1927 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge; graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1945. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in WWII. He was united in marriage to Arulen Anderson in 1970 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Bob worked in the sheet metal field for 30 years until retiring in 1986. The couple loved to travel together. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
