Robert "Turtle" Pingel

Robert "Turtle" Pingel, 63, of Callender, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Danielle (Sammy) Keck and their children, Kenyon, Cooper, and Aryan all of Fort Dodge, brother, Donald Pingel of Fort Dodge and his sister Tammy Pingel of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Kay (Dessinger) Pingel Jr., wife Pamela J. Pingel in 2019, and a granddaughter, Myranda Keck.

Robert Daniel Pingel was born on July 18, 1960, in Fort Dodge. He attended area schools including Fort Dodge Senior High School. On July 17, 1982, he was united in marriage to Pamela Corell at Dolliver Park. The couple made their home in Callender. For over 20 years Turtle worked for Fort Dodge Asphalt. He was an avid NASCAR fan especially Dale Earnhardt and Earnhardt Jr. Going to the Community Tap was a favorite of his along with watching the game show network with his dog “Old Man”.
