Rodney Johnson

Rodney "Rod" L. Johnson, 64, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, November 2, 2018 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 5, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. A visitation will be Monday from 12:30 pm until the start of the service. Burial will be at a later date. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Rodney is survived by his sister, Joyce Johnson of Fort Dodge; brother, Al (Barb) Johnson of South Dakota; son, Brian (Liesel) Johnson, and grandchildren, Ellie & Olivia Johnson all of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Darlene Johnson; brother, Bill Johnson; and son, Kyle Lentsch. Rodney Leo Johnson was born October 31, 1954 in Fort Dodge. He attended Saint Edmond High School and graduated in 1972. He then attended Iowa Central Community. Rod worked as a surveyor in Eldora and as a supervisor in the Webster County Engineering Department. He then began work for Marso Rodenborn Glove Factory as a supervisor. Rod also owned Fort Dodge Sewing where he made leather gloves for several ski resorts. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Rod loved his country and cherished his family and friends. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
