Roger W. Wheeler

Roger Wheeler, 53, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, surrounded by family at home. Roger has been battling health issues for a couple years. Celebration of Life: 4:00 -7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 520 Richmond Street Rockwell City, Iowa. Food and drinks will be provided. He is survived by his mother, Linda Wheeler; sons, Kee Wheeler, Pierce Wheeler, Jeremiah Wheeler, and Bowe Wheeler; brother, Dale (Stephanie) Wheeler; nieces, Marissa (Axl) Bronzynski and McKailey (Alex) Campbell; nephew, Mason (Kasey Halbur) Wheeler; and many loving family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Ed Wheeler. Roger was born August 19, 1969, to Edward and Linda (Howell) Wheeler in Washington, Iowa. He graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1987. Roger was an exceptional athlete, earning honors in basketball, baseball, football, and bowling. He was united in marriage to Lori Olsen on September 20, 1997, and they later divorced. During their marriage they had three boys together, Pierce, Jeremiah, and Bowe. Roger worked as a P&D Manager at FedEx for 19 years until his health declined. Roger was a huge fan of sports; especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed music, golf, eating food, and spending time with his family. He was known for his sense of humor and sarcastic responses. He had a comeback for everything. Rogers most cherished moments in life were spent with his boys. Some of their favorite memories were spent at the Iowa State Fair, Adventureland, and Iowa Cubs games. He enjoyed watching them play sports, celebrating Christmas with them, playing MLB, and most importantly spending time with his boys. Rogers love for athletics was passed on to his kids at a very early age. His mottos were "you touch it, you catch it" and "dont throw it to stone hands." He will be deeply missed by many friends and family. Memorials may be sent to 520 Richmond Street Rockwell City, Iowa 50579.
