Ronald E. Fevold, 81 of Fort Dodge died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 11, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Andrea Kraushaar and Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating. A flag presentation conducted by the VFW Post 1856 will follow the service. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Ronald is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Christine and her husband Gregory Kurtz; grandsons, Joel (Taylor) and Seth Kurtz; great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Benjamin all of Denver, CO; brother, Darrell (Joanne) Fevold of Des Moines; sisters, Nancy Fevold of San Antonio, TX; and Barbara (James) Davis of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Viva (Vinsand) Fevold; daughter, Elaine Marie Sterling; infant daughter, Cynthia Louise; and granddaughter, Emily May Fairchild. Ronald Eugene Fevold was born July 3, 1931 in Dakota City, South Dakota. As a young child he moved with his family to Badger, where he began his education. He continued schooling in Fort Dodge then Otho. He graduated Otho High School. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. On May 18, 1951 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Johnson. After his honorable discharge, Ron farmed for a period of time around Otho. The couple then established their home in Fort Dodge. Ron was employed with Fort Dodge Packing. In 1964 he began his meat inspection career in Cedar Rapids. In 1967 Ronald and Evelyn's family moved to South San Francisco, California. He was employed as a Federal Meat Inspector for 39 years. In 1997 the couple moved to Denver, Colorado and in 2001 they moved back to Fort Dodge. Over his career Ronald served as president of the local and western Council of Meat Inspectors. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
