Altoona Ronald W. Hildreth 89, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Taylor House in Des Moines. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Jolley, with Pastor Kelley Pedersen officiating. Military Flag Presentation by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Ronald is survived by his wife Helen of 61 years; sons, William (Rhonda) Hildreth of Johnston and C.J. (Karen) Hildreth of Grimes; daughter Sherri (Keith) Butters of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Samantha, Breanne, Zach, and Brooke; step-Grandchildren, Eric and Mollie; step-great-grandchildren, Winnie, Brady, Collins, and Sullivan; brothers, Gary (Lorraine) Hildreth and Dennis Hildreth; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara (Clare) Hildreth; sister Marilyn Sowinski; and brother Jackie Hildreth. Ronald William Hildreth was born June 1, 1931 at Los Angeles, California. He moved with his parents to Jolley where he graduated from Jolley High School with the Class of 1950. In 1950, Ronald served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1957 he graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City. He later obtained his BS Degree from the University of Georgia and Texas A&M University. On April 18, 1959 he was united in marriage to Helen Stein at Lytton. Ronald taught school in Marcus, Iowa, Anita Iowa, and Polk County. He retired as a Sears & Roebuck salesman and a crop adjuster. Ronald was also a property manager and pilot for Property Management Company.
