Rowena A. Halligan

Rowena A. Halligan, 92, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Marian Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Rowena is survived by her daughters LInda Bohn and Janet (Brent) Mitchell, sons Denny (Peg), Jack, Don (Deb), Pat (Carmie), Dave (Jodi), Paul (Julie), and Matt (Jessica), daughter-in-law Angie Halligan, 32 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Ida (Welter) Palmer, husband Raphael Halligan, son Michael Halligan, sister Leola Stewart and brothers Forrest Palmer, Clyde Palmer, Lloyd Palmer, and Donald Palmer. Rowena Amy Palmer was born August 31, 1930 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1947. She then attended Tobin Business College. On July 12, 1949 she was united in marriage to Raphael "Ray" Halligan. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Rowena dearly enjoyed raising and spending time with her family. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and was active in the Rosary Society as well as in many other areas of the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Saint Edmond Catholic Schools.
