Callender Roy O. Scott 91, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender, with Pastor Greg Stano and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Memorials maybe left to the discretion of the family. Roy is survived by his daughters, Mary (Michael) Keen of Callender, and Cynthia McKeehan of Callender; sons, David (Kim) Scott of Fort Dodge, and Robert Scott of Salisbury, NC; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Doris Black of Fort Dodge; special friend Judy Corell of Callender; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; granddaughter Jennifer Scott; his parents, William and Doris (Cheney) Scott; brothers, Ralph and John Scott; and sisters, Della DeRome and Delores Umbaugh. Roy O. Scott was born September 7, 1930 at Lehigh, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. On September 30, 1956 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Stevens. In 1957, the couple moved to California for 5 years. They returned to Fort Dodge and established their home in Gowrie in 1969. From 1974 to 1979 they owned and operated the R&E Caf in Lehigh. Roy also worked at Standard Engineering, Harklau Industries, Wheels of GYC Rolling Skating Rink, the Prairie Valley School System, and was a ICCC Shuttle driver.
