Ruby C. McCabe, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Simpson Health Center Friendship Haven. Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, Clare with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery. A visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a Vigil at 6:00 p.m. Ruby is survived by her children, Victoria (Hense) McCabe of Denver, CO; Michael (Nancy) McCabe of Clare; Daniel McCabe of Clare; Mark McCabe of Phoenix, AZ; Kelly McCabe of Albuquerque, NM; Thomas McCabe of Clare; and Ray II (Linda) McCabe of Clare; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Gene (Nell) Egli of Starkville, MS; and Ken Egli of Kalona, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sadie (Musselman) Egli; her husband Ray in 2005; son-in-law, Jeru Hense; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Ruby Coleen Egli was born October 27, 1925, in Manson, IA. She attended school in Gilmore City where she graduated high school from. Following her education Ruby worked as a Continuity Writer for K.V.F.D. radio. She was united in marriage to Ray McCabe on November 24, 1947, at Corpus Christi Church and the couple established their home on a farm southwest of Clare. They retired from farming in 1983. In 2004, the couple moved to Fort Dodge. Ruby cared for many elderly folks in their homes throughout her retirement. She especially loved her family. Memorials may be left to Friendship Haven Building Fund.
