Ogden Rudy C. Hockemeier 70, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Accura HealthCare of Ogden. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ogden, with Pastor Steve Ude officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Church until service time. Private family burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery, Gowrie at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Rudy is survived by his children, Crystal (Chris) Searles of Gowrie, Matthew (Lisa) Hockemeier of Boone, Corey (Annette) Hockemeier of Paton; 13 grandchildren, Amanda Kinley, Joey (Matthew) Styles, Andrew Kinley, Zachary Hockemeier, Thomas Hockemeier, Emylyn Hockemeier, Trayton Hockemeier, Marissa Hockemeier, Trey Hockemeier, Sophia Hockemeier, Hannah Hockemeier, Evelyn Hockemeier, and Whitney Hockemeier; his mother Marie Hockemeier of Gowrie; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Tracy Hockemeier; his father Clarence Hockemeier; and sister Phyllis Miller. Rudy Clarence Hockemeier was born June 21, 1948 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Gowrie High School. Rudy also graduated from trade school in Omaha. Following his education, he worked for Oscar Meyer in Perry. On December 27, 1967 he was united in marriage to Janice Meyer. Rudy farmed for most of his life in the Gowrie and Boxholm areas. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden.
