Russell Paul Williams

Russell P. Williams, 64, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, April 18, 2024 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Russ is survived by his wife Lori Jo (Zeka) Williams of Fort Dodge; children, Margaret Lynn Williams of Fort Dodge, David Robert Zeka and his wife Morgan of Geneva and their children, Julius, Leo, Jordan, Remmy and Revan and Elizabeth Ann Marie Zeka of Mayfield, KY; brother, Ronald Williams of Fort Dodge; niece Melissa (Matt) McCrady of Fort Dodge; and mother-in-law, Nancy Zeka of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lucille (Widlund) Williams; infant sister, Paulette Williams; and his father-in-law, William J. Zeka.

Russell Paul Williams was born June 5, 1959 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1979 and began college at Iowa Central Community College in the Early Childhood Program. He also attended Buena Vista University. On October 22, 1994 he was united in marriage to Lori Zeka at Christ Lutheran Church. Russ worked at Pastime in the Park, Yacht Club Trailers, McDonald's and retired from WalMart in 2022. Russ had a passion for birds; his favorite being a flamingo. He loved to sit and watch them outside of the house and even belonged to the Webster County Bird Club. He was a social butterfly that loved to talk and could make friends with anyone. He collected old radios and loved listening to music; among his favorites were the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix but he also loved jazz music. Russ was an avid Hawkeye fan amongst his fellow IA State loving family members. He cared deeply for his family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand.
