Russell "Rusty" Castor, 59, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, January 08, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Durand officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include his son Jordan Castor and his wife Leslie of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Alexis, Noah, Maggie, and Paul all at home; step son, Brookes Johnson and step daughter, Shanae Johnson; brothers, Barry Fisher and his wife Gerri of Paton; and Mike Fisher of Harcourt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Dorothy (Flanagan) Castor, and his sister, Sharon Caldwell. Russell Raymond Castor was born on January 6, 1955 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He was united in marriage to Joni Beth Macek and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. They were later divorced. Rusty was a truck driver for Fort Dodge Asphalt before retiring due to ill health. Rusty loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His faith in God was very important to him. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially playing cards. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
