Fort Dodge Ruth D. Schoonover 84, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender, with Pastor Greg Stano and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Graveside Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Lemons Cemetery, Lemons, Missouri. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Callender. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is in charge of arrangements. Ruth is survived by her husband Billie of Ft. Dodge; son William G. (Karon) Schoonover of Paullina; daughter Billie Starlene (Randy) Ness of Callender; grandchildren, Joshua (Annie) Schoonover, Emilee Schuck, Alexandria (Jeff) Pommer, Betsy (Nick) Bement, and Brandon, Naomi, and Ryan Kliegl; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cron and Annie (Dunlap) Eckman; brother Cron; sisters, Annie, Leah, and Florence; and son Stevin. Ruth D. Eckman was born Dec. 11, 1934 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ruth was united in marriage to Billie Schoonover on July 30, 1952 at Harrison, Arkansas. They lived in Milan and Winigan, Missouri areas until moving to the Fort Dodge area in 1962. The couple became residents of Sunny Knoll Care Centre in June of 2018. Ruth loved to sew and clean. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
