Sandra L. Ramthun, 64, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at that Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Early, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. all at the funeral home. Survivors include her sons, Robert Ramthun of Moorland; Todd Ramthun of Des Moines; grandson, Gaige Ramthun of Moorland; mother, Julia Adams of Storm Lake, siblings, Tony (Stacy) Gibbins of Fort Dodge; Rose (Mickey) Fitchett of Nemaha; Marion (Sue) Gibbins of Storm Lake; Mike Gibbins of Kansas City, KS; Joan (Larry) Hatch of Overland Park, KS; Marlene (Ron) Teslchaw of Madrid; Ronnie (Myra) Gibbins of Arlington, TX; Philip Gibbins of Belle Plaine; Patty (Joe) Bandy of Kansas City, KS; Doug (Jean) Gibbins of Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Gibbins; and her sister, Elaine Gibbins Sandra Lee Gibbins was born on December 6, 1949 in Early, Iowa. She attended schools in Early and in Storm Lake; graduating from St. Mary's High School. In 1969, she was united in marriage to Dean Ramthun and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. In 1994 she moved to Phoenix where she was employed as a radiologist at a clinic. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, sewing, cross stitching, doing crafts, and going to garage sales. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
