Sarah Elizabeth Reeves

April 25, 1915 — March 12, 2014

Sarah (Elizabeth) Reeves, 98, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014 at the Simpson Health Center. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Survivors include, daughter Coleen (Phillip) Sandquist of Altoona, IA; 7 grandchildren, Gary Nelson, Kathy O'Brien, Jim Reeves all of Fort Dodge; Jerry Reeves of Otho; Michelle Korte of Altoona; Dana Reeves of Scottsdale, AZ; and Sara Kelly of Urbandale; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren with another due in May. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, James and Myrtle (Jones) Brown; husband, Kermit Reeves; son, Larry Reeves; brother, John Brown; and sister Lillian Eggers. Sarah Elizabeth Brown was born on April 25, 1915 in Newtown Missouri. She was raised and educated in Newtown. In 1932 she was united in marriage to Kermit Reeves. In 1938 they established their home in Otho Iowa. Elizabeth was employed at Globe Union Central Lab for thirty years, retiring in 1980. Elizabeth was an avid crocheter and loved giving her beautiful doilies to her family and friends as well as making her favorite banana bread to anyone who stopped by. She was a longtime member of Otho United Methodist Church. All memorials are to be directed to Otho United Methodist Church.
